EMS-L Infrared Temperature Sensor Test and Calibration
ESA’s EMS-L mass spectrometer on the JAXA-ISRO LUPEX mission will measure volatiles in the lunar exosphere and those released from the surface and subsurface during mission activities. To assess volatile quantity in the regolith, the surface temperature in front of the EMS-L aperture is measured with an infrared sensor. In this ESA-funded activity, TUM coordinates the sensor calibration across the extreme temperature range expected during the mission.
