Proximity Operations Testbed

Description

The Proximity Operations testbed is part of the RACOON laboratory. It is used for hardware simulation of the space environment during Proximity Operations. The testbed consists of a dark room with multiple translation and rotation mechanisms. This enables the simulation of the relative motion between two spacecraft under realistic lighting conditions. It so allows the generation of realistic sensor data and camera images for the operator, which create the illusion of controlling a real spacecraft.
