Biography
The research activity of Prof. Alessandro Golkar focuses on advanced space mission concepts and systems engineering research, supporting new capabilities for pico- and nanosatellites, and enabling the next generation of satellite constellations and distributed satellite system concepts.
Prof. Golkar joined TUM on September 1, 2022, founding the Spacecraft Systems (formerly Chair of Pico-, Nanosatellites, and Satellite Constellations). Prior to TUM, he spent ten years as one of the first faculty members of Skoltech, a graduate research university based in Moscow focused on the development of applied research and fostering technology entrepreneurship. From 2017-19, Prof. Golkar served as Vice President in the Technology Roadmapping and Planning department of Airbus CTO in Toulouse, France. He holds a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT.
