Biography
Ramón García Alarcia is a Research Associate and Doctoral Candidate at the Chair of Spacecraft Systems at the Technical University of Munich.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Systems Engineering and a second Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Systems Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Barcelona, Spain), as well as a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, with a Major in Space Systems, from ISAE-SUPAERO (Toulouse, France).
Since 2022, he pursues research on the application of Large Language Models to the initial phases of designing a space mission, with a focus on system requirements generation, as well as other high-level documentation and design elements. As part of the doctoral project results, a prototype space mission design assistant tool, leveraging generative AI is envisaged.
This cross-disciplinary research looks forward to alleviating the time and costs of a process that usually encounters significant delays and cost overruns, improving efficiency and democratizing access to space by making it available to a broader range of institutions and individuals.
