Research interests

Steve Hoong Chen Teo is a postdoctoral research fellow in climate and ecosystem science, based in the Munich Climate Center and Earth System Modelling Group of Prof. Niklas Boers at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He holds a Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore and a B.Sc (Hons) in Environmental Science from the University of Nottingham.

Steve’s current research investigates the dynamical stability of terrestrial ecosystems and their carbon fluxes, analysing resilience loss, critical transitions, and tipping risks using observations and modelling. This builds on his past research on nature-based solutions, carbon market integrity, and ecosystem resilience.
