Fundamentals of Aeronautical Engineering
The lecture is held in coopertation with the Intstitute of Aircraft Design. During this lecture the fundamentals of developing fixed and rotary wing aircrafts from the past up to future concepts are presented. Therefore the basic principles of lift and drag are introduced. The understanding of mathematical calculation models is complemented with methods of preliminary design and mission planning. Besides studying security and certification the students will learn about the functionality of aircraft systems and components. The knowledge conveyed in the course serves as a basis for further studies in the field of fixed and rotary wing development.
