Beschreibung
The lecture "Fundamentals of Aircraft Operations" covers a multidisciplinary spectrum of all essential topics of aircraft and flight operations with a focus on commercial air transport. Based on the historical development of the civil air transport system, the lecture presents actors, operational procedures and framework conditions of air transport and offers in this context also an outlook on the potential and impact of new technologies. In detail the lecture contains the following thematic blocks: History of civil air transport, overview of aircraft design, aircraft operators, airports, air traffic control, commercial aircraft operations, environmental impact of air transport, electric aircraft, unmanned aircraft (military flight operations, aircraft maintenance).
Inhaltliche Voraussetzungen
Grundlagen der Luftfahrttechnik (recommended), Aircraft Design (recommended)
Studien-, Prüfungsleistung
There will be a written examination. The aim of this exam is to prove that a problem in the subject matter covered can be identified in a limited time and without any aids (except a non-programmable calculator), and that ways to a solution can be found. The examination questions cover the entire lecture material. The answers require partly own formulations, partly ticking of given multiple answers. In addition, short arithmetical problems are set.
