Prabin Gyawali joins us as research associate
We are delighted to welcome Prabin Gyawali as our newest research associate and PhD candidate.
Prabin joined the team following his graduation from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), where he completed his Master's degree in Geodesy and Geoinformation. During his studies, he was already part of our group as a student assistant and conducted his Master's thesis within the team.
His Master's thesis, “SpatioSpectral Change Detection Using MultiSensor Fusion Hyperclouds: Quantifying Geomorphological Dynamics of a Braided River System,” focused on detecting and quantifying geomorphological changes by combining multi-sensor remote sensing data.
In his doctoral research, Prabin will work on the multi-scale monitoring of vulnerable beach-dune systems using satellite remote sensing and laser scanning. By strategically combining satellite observations with in-situ 3D measurements, he aims to develop an integrated framework for monitoring coastal environments and capturing their changes across different spatial and temporal scales.
We are very happy that Prabin will continue his work with us as a PhD candidate and look forward to his contributions to our research on remote sensing and environmental change.
