We are delighted to welcome Tilman Baus as our newest research assistant and PhD candidate. 

Tilman joined the team following his graduation from TU Wien in 2025, where he earned his degree in Technical Mathematics with a specialization in analysis and numerics.

In his doctoral research, Tilman will address the challenge of isolating mantle-driven signals from other sources of surface uplift. By combining GNSS velocity fields and InSAR data, he aims to determine whether these signals align with established geophysical and geological models.

His work is integrated into the DFG Research Training Group UPLIFT, a interdisciplinary environment focused on understanding and quantifying uplift mechanisms of the continental lithosphere. 

We are thrilled to welcome him to the group and look forward to the insights our work will bring.
