We had a fantastic time representing our team at the EGU General Assembly 2025 in Vienna from 27 April to 2 May!
Together with colleagues from the NFDI4Earth consortium, our group joined forces at Booth #19, where we showcased the latest developments from the 4DWORKS pilot project. A key feature of our booth was the interactive 3D visualization of a dynamic riverbed, developed by ASG students Florian Hertrampf and Vadim Jentsch, and supported by Xiaoyu Huang and Jiapan Wang. The visualization attracted wide interest from the community and served as a tangible demonstration of spatiotemporal surface dynamics.
On Monday afternoon, we hosted a short presentation at the booth to introduce the core ideas behind 4DWORKS. Coffee, curiosity, and great discussions followed!
Throughout the Monday and Tuesday, members of our group together with Martin Werner from TUMBGD, were actively present at the booth to exchange ideas on earth surface dynamic monitoring and change detections.
In addition to the exhibition, our team also participated in the scientific programme. Notably, Mathilde Letard, postdoc in our group, co-convened the GM2.2 session "Novel data, methods and applications in Geomorphometry", which featured a rich lineup of oral and poster contributions on point cloud processing, morphometric mapping, and geomorphological monitoring. Mathilde also presented a poster on extracting bathymetric information using neural networks.
It was a great pleasure to meet collaborators, explore new ideas, and engage in lively discussions across sessions and the exhibition. Thanks to all who stopped by and contributed to the inspiring week!
