Open Positions

Lead Software Engineer

At our technology start-up from the chair we are currently looking for a new team member in Garching/Munich with focus on software development, starting immediately. With financial backing by the EXIST Transfer of Research program, we are improving the way that remotely controlled semi-autonomous drones are used in search and rescue operations, enabling first responders to more effectively prevent or reduce loss of life and property.

While we see the most urgent need for real-time visual data in emergency services customers, in the long run we plan to make our technology available to everyone. Accordingly, our vision is to enable any person to virtually immerse themselves in any place, however remote, based on real-time visual data. To achieve this, we work with modern technologies like drones, satellite communication, 3D reconstruction methods, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence.

Your challenges

You are the software lead, responsible for developing and writing high quality production code as well as supervising and guiding the coding of the other team members. You get to shape the product with innovative contributions. Additionally, your responsibilities include the management of the DevOps process, e.g. for creating and maintaining the development environment and continuous integration pipelines. Furthermore, you will lead and motivate new team members to develop new features, prototypes and master other upcoming challenges.

Your profile

  • A completed university degree in informatics, computer science or a related field
  • Expert proficiency in C++
  • Strong experience with professional development processes and tools
  • Prior experience with Boost, PCL and Game Engines (Unity, UE4) is beneficial
  • Excellent analytical and organizational capabilities
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, leadership skills, and ability to work in a team
  • Interest in drone technologies and remote operation methods
  • Experience with emergency services (police, fire fighters or EMS) is beneficial

Apart from flexibility in working hours and remote work, we offer you the opportunity to cause a real impact on shaping the product, to work on meaningful tasks and to participate in important decisions. We want to dominate the market in what we do, and each member's contribution will be highly compensated and recognized.
