Our professorship #TUMRSA recently participated in the ISPRS Geospatial Week 2025 in Dubai, UAE, 06th – 11th April, 2025. We were co-organizing the workshop and presenting research results from colleagues and our collaborators.
It was a pleasure to co-organize the Laser Scanning Workshop. The workshop hosted 4 sessions with 20 presentations and a poster session featuring 19 contributions all around acquisition, processing and applications of laser scanning data, inspired lots of insightful talks and engaged discussion.
We were also excited to present the following scientific outputs:
- Unsupervised Deep Clustering on Spatiotemporal Objects Extracted from 4D Point Clouds for Automatic Identification of Topographic Processes in Natural Environments by Jiapan Wang, Katharina Anders
- Investigation of Riverbank Peat Erosion in a small Alpine catchment by Multi-Temporal Point Cloud Change Analysis and Time Series Clustering by Jiapan Wang, Rasoul Eskandari, Cheng-Han Lin, János Mészáros, Laura Obrecht, Evangeline Rowe, Jules Salzinger, Martin Rutzinger, Andreas Mayr
- Permanent Laser Scanning and 3D Time Series Analysis for Geomorphic Monitoring using Low-Cost Sensors and Open-Source Software by Lotte de Vugt, Edoardo Carraro, Ayoub Fatihi, Enrico Mattea, Eleanor Myall, Daniel Czerwonka-Schröder, Katharina Anders
The event provided an excellent platform for exchanging ideas with researchers from around the world. Special thanks also to the local organizers of Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre for this huge effort and hosting us!
Stay tuned for the proceedings to be published soon. In the meantime, meet as at the 2026 ISPRS Congress in Toronto!
