Description

The operational aspects of aviation become nowadays increasingly important. Due to the steady growth of the industry, more and more airports are facing their capacity limits and are searching for solutions to overcome this problem. Not only airports are struggling to meet with the projected growth, also the air space is limited and more and more charged. Terror attacks as they took place in September 2001, have led to a fundamental revision of the existing security standards. Increasing competition, raising fuel prices and other effects have lowered the average operational margins of Airlines to a minimum. The aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul business is as the airline business a very competitive one witch demands high flexibility, highest quality and cost efficiency. How the aviation Industry copes with this challenges will be subject of the lecture “Operational Aspects of Aviation”. The following topics are presented in seven lectures by experienced speakers of the respective areas: Airlines (Lufthansa), Air Traffic Management (DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung), Airport (Munich Airport), Aircraft MRO (RUAG Aviation), Military Aircraft Operations (Federal Ministry of Defence) and UAV Operations (Airbus DS Airborne Solutions).
