The NFDI4Earth Plenary 2025 took place at MARUM – Center for Marine Environmental Sciences, University of Bremen. Our 4DWorks team presented the latest developments in 4D metadata curation workflow at the Software & Tools Marketplace, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles in 3D time series metadata management. The contributions showcased a practical roadmap, hands-on tutorials, helper toolkits, a STAC extension, and real-world use cases that demonstrated the benefits of standardized 4D metadata management for improving usability and interoperability of spatiotemporal datasets. The team’s work sparked valuable discussions and collaborations within the NFDI4Earth community, emphasizing the importance of standardized metadata practices in advancing 4D geospatial research.
Thanks to MARUM and NFDI4Earth for the impressive hosting and and we look forward to the next milestones.
