The collaboration consisted of a joint field visit to the Transmigration Patriot locations of Parit Rambutan and Muara Kuang in the Province of South Sumatra, lectures in scientific research and article writing for doctoral and master students at UNDIP, participation in the kick-off workshop of the SMUS project (the role of Ecotones in shaping urban sustainability), and presenting a lecture on land management and land use planning for students in spatial planning at UNDIP. The visit to UNDIP also included a meeting and discussion with the Rector of UNDIP and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Further joint activities (including research, publications, field studies, staff and student exchange in rural development and transmigration and land use planning) are anticipated in the context of the transmigration projects.
