Traceability for industrial 3D digitalisation by advanced scanning systems (ScanClouDT)
3D laser scanning systems are vital for the digital transformation in geometric measurements. However, the metrological tool kit does not keep up with these systems. Assessing their measurement uncertainty requires unrealistic computation efforts. The project will develop new approaches along the entire data capture and point cloud processing chain. New, validated digital metrological twins will assess the complete physical measurement. A holistic quality metric will be derived to handle the typical, excessively large point clouds. Verification strategies will be developed to validate dedicated software packages. Case studies in aerospace manufacturing, logistics, and geodesy will demonstrate the potential of these methods
