From August 4–8, 2025, the 24th International Conference on Composite Materials (ICCM24) took place at the Baltimore Convention Center in Maryland, USA. Elisabeth Gleis from the Chair of Carbon Composites (Prof. Klaus Drechsler) contributed to the conference with a presentation on “Development and manufacturing of a conformable CFRP tank demonstrator with tension-strut-reinforcement” on August 6.
The presented work is part of her ongoing PhD research on conformable hydrogen pressure vessels. The results were partly developed within the project Polymers4Hydrogen and are further advanced in the follow-up project Adapt-H2-Tanks.
During her stay in the U.S., she also visited Johns Hopkins University. Many thanks to Prof. Michael Kessler and his group for hosting her and providing valuable insights into their research activities.
The conference proceedings will be available soon at iccm-central.org.
