On July 26 we successfully carried out two fuselage crash tests in front of a huge audience at Flugwerft Schleißheim. The tests will round off our BMWK LuFo project CraCpit with Akaflieg München.

The attached picture sequence shows the novel CraCpit fuselage with a H III dummy impacting at a nominal angle of 45° with a sideslip angle of 5° and a velocity of 54 km/h.

Additionally an Astir CS fuselage was tested under comparable conditions in the sister project NaSiCo (LUH ISD Hannover, Akaflieg Hannover) the same day.

Detailed analysis and numerical simulations are on the way.
