MatWaTa – Material-efficient hydrogen pressure vessels for environmentally friendly and zero emission mobility concepts of the future
Within the scope of this project, the material-efficient production of hydrogen pressure vessels is investigated by using an innovative combination of three process technologies (winding, fiber patch placement and tufting).
Project Partners
Augsburg University of Applied Sciences
Duration
01.01.2023 – 31.12.2025
Funding authority
Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy (StMWi)
Method
By reinforcing the dome area of a cylindrical tank with fiber patch placement and tufting, material savings of at least 20% and a 20% reduction in overall production time can be achieved. The Chair of Carbon Composites is dedicated to the task of concept development and realization of multiprocess production as well as the production and testing of the tank demonstrators.
Acknowledgement
The Chair of Carbon Composites would like to thank the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy (StMWi) for funding this project as part of the Holistic Air Mobility Initiative Bavaria – HAMI in the aviation research program.
