Wolfgang Zahn (second from right) won the Runder Tisch GIS e.V. Geoinformatics Award with his Master's Thesis. The award worth 2000€ was granted on February 24th during the opening event of the Münchner GI-Runde 2016. His work, developed at the Chair of Geoinformatics during winter term 2014/15, covers the analysis of solar radiation for big 3D city models according to the CtiyGML standard. Besides the fully automated calculation and evaluation of solar potentials the enrichment of the city model with analysis results is discussed. Please find a free copy of his study here.
